You may be familiar with our Ethel Gama Education Fund. A few years ago Ethel was identified as a promising student in Sabie. She was a hard worker and motivated but living in a shack with her mother and several other family members. You may have contributed to the fund to help Ethel move on to post secondary education and at the end of 2026 she will graduate with a degree in Science (economics and geology). Our administrators in Sabie are working hard to focus on education and have set up an After School program to accommodate students who show an interest in furthering their education.

Because there are so many more students involved we are shifting our focus to the Education Fund and are raising money to provide a Study Centre for up to 25 Secondary and 15 Elementary students. Our administrators in Sabie, Vicky and Miriam, are unable to do this without help and are enlisting the help of a local woman. This will allow them to provide more individualized support for the students.

Students arrive at the Study Centre after school about 2:30 and receive fruit, juice and sandwiches. They stay until about 5:30 when they return home. They are assisted by Vicky and the education assistant.
