Grannies à Gogo is again pleased to present 3 travelogues to help lift you out of your mid-Winter bleakness! We’ll be heading north, south and half-way in between.
All 3 travelogues will take place on Friday at 2:00 at the Schubert Centre. Entry is $10 with all funds going to help the gogos in Sabie, South Africa.
Friday, Jan.17, 2025, 2:00 pm, at the Schubert Center: Lloyd Davies will present an illustrated travelogue, “A Slow Cruise in Alaska”. He and his wife, Janet, used the Marine Highway Ferry System to explore locations seldom visited by tourists. Some of their greatest memories are from their visit to the Anan Creek Bear Observatory, about 45 minutes by jet boat from Wrangell. Hosted by Grannies à Gogo.
Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, 2:00 pm, at the Schubert Center: Join Evelyn LeRose as she presents an illustrated travelogue, “Join me in Antarctica and Leave the Rest of the World Behind.” Evelyn will let you experience with her “the coldest, windiest and driest continent in the world.” Her commentary, illustrated with photos of icescapes, ice bergs, animals, birds and historical outposts, will give you a feel for and taste of this part of our amazing planet. Hosted by Grannies à Gogo.
Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, 2:00 pm, at the Schubert Center: Mary Stebbins will present an illustrated travelogue, “A Return Journey to Nepal.” Her travelogue will begin in the busy city of Kathmandu, a city of chaos, deep spirituality and ways old and new. Mary will also take you to the jungles of Chitwan National Park, home to wild elephants and the one horned rhinos of Asia and a mountain trek following the Kalagandaki River. Don’t miss this adventure with Mary as she rediscovers Nepal. Hosted by Grannies à Gogo.
